in the last 10 months i have had to say goodbye to 2 of my dearest companions and adopted children. “baby” (by my feet), my youngest at around 4, had to be put down suddenly on the night of a special-BEYOND-special trip to point reyes national park. and a few hours ago, my ancient and beloved matriarch “momma” (formally Tigerlilly). i have in all of my years teaching, taught through what most could not–but today, i absolutely cannot. she was quite riddled with illness and even still as so many of you know, there is no ‘good bye’ that we are ready for. she was my dearest love and partner through the raising of my children. there are sadnesses that only these dear ones know how to help us manage.
please know that i am terribly sorry but this cat lady just can’t ‘arrive’ today–not even to be on my mat. my practice will be alone. i need to find a place a for my girl to rest and let my kids come say their final goodbyes. where would be without our greatest blessings of animals to fill our cracks and holes and grow our hearts. be well all and love every creature you are with–the two-legged and four-legged and everything in between. someone needs you to come through for them every today you have been granted.
with love,
lizzie
