Miscellaneous Updates

as we are now in the full swing of summer, many of us are intensely enjoying these long and unpredictable days of summer. i hope that you all are doing a little of what you love daily, even if it isn’t always on the terms you’d like.

some changes to my community teaching schedule are occurring. although i enjoyed my time at embody, we have decided to end the wednesday and friday morning classes. oxford athletic club has invited me to be a part of their mind/body program which i am very excited about. kristi coleman is also a part of that team which makes me especially happy! it’s nice to be able to be a part of a group sincerely dedicated to the enrichment of mind, body and spirit.

the yoga program at the millvale community library kicks off this saturday at 10:00am and it’s FREE! finally!!!! it has been a year in the planning and the library is going strong. there are some super amazing classes that are offered that you may want to check out for kids and adults. gentle yoga is on the 1st and 3rd saturday and yoga I is offered on the 2nd and 4th saturday. essentially, it is all levels but the gentle is really for those who have more restrications in their practice and can’t necessarily do the down-up routine.

thanks to a dedicated former client, UPMC st. margaret’s now has a yoga program! on tuesday, july 8th was our first session and it is open to staff and clinicians. this is a donation class ($10.00 minimum suggested). currently, we have set tuesdays at 4:00pm (60 min.) as our designated time. if you are interested, send me a note 🙂

two new BIG programs are also in the works.

kiwanis park is on for tomorrow and since it is going to be a great morning, get your spot early because the court can fill up quickly…especially if you like the back! more than likely we are rotating though, so don’t get comfortable 😉

that’s the news for now. thanks for lending me your time and eyes and i look forward to seeing you tomorrow or whenever time allows!

namaste, yogis!

  1. Hi!  Can you tell me the difference between a plank and a high push up?  See you next Sat. dinelle

    1. hi dinelle! 🙂 the difference is in high pushup, the arms are long–not necessarily locked. legs may be slightly apart or together. in plank, legs should be together with heels pressing hard to back. arms are bent with forearms on floor but with elbows under shoulders. hands and forearms nay change in positioning vut essentially the main differences are through the arms and the legs. we can go over on saturday….just remind me before
me class. thanks for the great question!

      1. p.s. i made the mistake of replying on my phone…in the sun. my notoriety is as the lamest texter alive. sorry about appearing illiterate!
